LIGHT UPON LIGHT by Safia Malik

In the Qur’an, Allah mentions the words, “Light Upon Light” in the verses of Light (Surat al-Nur 35-38). Many Tafseers have been written about these verses, in particular, the words “Light Upon Light”.

What is this Light that Allah is mentioning in this verse?
1) It is the light of the heart that comes from us performing our obligatory acts of worship and any good actions we do.
2) It is also the light of guidance. The Guidance we receive from the Qur’an and the Prophet Muhammad SAW.
3) It is also the light in the grave and in the hereafter. This light can only come if we attain the light in this world by doing good actions and stay on the true path.
