Asalamualaikum and welcome!
My name is Safia, and I am mother of two toddlers, a wife, a daughter and a sister to 4 brothers, Alhamdullilah :) I was born in Pakistan and grew up in Toronto, Canada. I graduated from University of Toronto, majoring in Psychology, Sociocultural Anthropology and Human Exceptionality. Although my education has nothing to do with art, I was passionate about art since childhood.
In my university days, I started learning more about Islam and Islamic history. I became passionate about Traditional Arts and Arabic Calligraphy because of its divinity and beauty that now it has become my focus. I love to create Islamic art pieces inspired by the Qur’anic verses, as they not only beautify our living spaces, but also become beautiful reminders for us to remember Allah constantly.
After graduating, I worked at CAMH (Centre for Addiction and Mental Health) as an Art Therapist in the women's program. I also taught at an Islamic School (Suffah Academy) as an Art Teacher for almost 3 years.
